Refund Policy

1. Overview

At bothen, we want you to be fully satisfied with our Service. This Refund Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for paid subscriptions.

2. Free Trial

Every account starts with 10 free credits per month — no credit card required. We strongly recommend testing the Service with the Free plan before subscribing to a paid plan.

3. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 7-day money-back guaranteefor new paid subscriptions. If you're not satisfied with bothen within 7 days of your first paid subscription, we'll issue a full refund.

To qualify:

  • You must request the refund within 7 days of the initial payment
  • This applies only to your first paid subscription (not renewals or upgrades)
  • You must not have used more than 25% of your monthly credit allocation

4. Cancellations

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard at /dashboard/billing. When you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • You will not be charged again
  • You can continue using the Service (with your existing credits) until the period ends
  • No prorated refund is issued for the unused portion of the current period

5. Exceptions

Refunds will not be granted in the following cases:

  • Account terminated for violation of Terms of Service
  • More than 7 days have passed since the initial payment
  • You have used more than 25% of your monthly credits
  • Renewal payments (not first-time subscriptions)
  • Custom or enterprise plans (governed by separate agreement)

6. Service Disruptions

If you experience a verified service disruption attributable to bothen (not third-party providers) that significantly impacts your usage, we may issue:

  • Service credits to your account
  • A prorated refund for the affected period
  • Extended billing period at no additional cost

Scale plan customers with an SLA receive automatic credits per the SLA terms.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Email us at billing@bothenapi.com
  2. Include your account email and reason for the refund
  3. Reference your subscription ID (found in /dashboard/billing)

We will respond within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 5-10 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Paddle.

8. Plan Changes

When you upgrade to a higher plan mid-cycle, we prorate the difference and charge the difference immediately. When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period — no refund is issued for the unused portion of the higher plan.
